报告题目Spatial Queueing Models in On-Demand Economy

报告时间2021722日上午9:00-11:00

报告地点Online

报告摘要

I will discuss several spatial queueing models motivated by the recent applications of the on-demand economy, such as ride-hailing and on-demand food delivery. In those models, queueing theory can be applied to capture the spatial movements of servers such as vehicles and food-delivery couriers. I will use those models to explain how to resolve the "wild goose chase" problem in ride-hailing, how to dispatch and route food-delivery couriers, and what might affect the restaurant industry over the long run after the introduction of on-demand delivery.
